PROJECTS UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Technopôle Defence and Security is promoting the economic development strategy for the defence, security and public safety markets developed under the Accord program.

The economic development strategy consists of three distinct projects:

  • The Market Intelligence Centre (MIC) will allow TDS to expand its market development and related strategic activities by creating a brand new business development team focusing on specific areas of expertise. Using a market-pull approach, the MIB will help boost the revenues of participating companies. It will also seek to anticipate clients' needs while linking small businesses with major Canadian and non-Canadian integrator companies as well as supporting business development.
  • The Technology Integration Centre (TIC) will lead to the creation of industrial consortiums designed to foster cooperation between final users and TDS's members. Working together, these partners will deliver innovative business and technology to enhance stakeholders' operating capabilities in all areas of the defence, security and public safety sectors, both in Canada and around the world.
Focusing on R&D, rapid prototyping and technology demonstration activities, the TIC will deliver pre-production models adapted to operating requirements. It will also seek to obtain R&D contracts enabling foreign investors to meet industrial and regional benefit requirements.
  • The Defence and Security District (DSD) is a techno-industrial park that will attract and retain technology firms and research consortiums operating in the defence and security sector, thereby creating real communities of interest. With the first stone expected to be laid by TDS, the DSD will first house TDS's administrative offices, in addition to the TIC, the MIC and additional rental space.
